In no particular order, here are ten things I think you’ll love about reading Wild Goose Chase, especially if you were a fan of Forrest for the Trees and Young Buck and if you love the Green Valley Universe in general. It is my very favorite fictional place and I’ve striven to make every book I’ve written in the Green Valley Heroes series read like an homage. Here goes: 1. Romystery is still my jam. That’s right, I said it. Romystery is a thing and most of my novels have it: a romance with a mystery to solve. Young Buck was about uncovering Buck’s mother’s secret. Forrest for the Trees was about investigating suspicious fires. Wild Goose Chase exposes a high-level conspiracy.

It is my very favorite fictional place and I’ve striven to make every book I’ve written in the Green Valley Heroes series read like an homage. Here goes: 1. Buck is kind of irresistible. Make no mistake, Loretta tries. Easier said than done with him living next door. It doesn’t help that he’s so athletic…shirtless runs in the neighborhood, pull-ups in his boxer briefs…
Read MoreToday is the day, folks. I can FINALLY (finally, finally) confirm that I've written another book in the Green Valley Heroes series! I present to you Young Buck! Yes, *that* Buck...the one who helped Forrest investigate the suspicious fires in Forrest for the Trees. The one who had a tiny crush on Sierra (until Forrest shut it down). Want to put it in your queue? Add it to Goodreads right here! https://bit.ly/3uM543m
Read MoreIf you've been paying attention to my Amazon page, you've seen it hiding for a while. I started writing this book in October 2020, for all of us (myself included) who were feeling cooped up because of the pandemic. It Takes a Villa will whisk you away to one of my favorite places: Italy's Amalfi Coast. You will love It Takes A Villa if you love grumpy/sunshine, fixer-uppers and home rehabs, Italian grandmas who are full of beans, family drama (his) and family secrets (hers), settings that are rich in beauty and culture, and multicultural romance.

Me and seventeen other award-winning, bestselling rom-com authors are back with a new holiday anthology. We're teaming up to sell #Books4Boobs. Read MoreIt’s the project I’ve had mostly under wraps for the past year that I’m so excited to share with you: Forrest for the Trees!! It’s Book 1 of the brand new Green Valley Heroes series, in the Green Valley universe of Penny Reid’s Smartypants Romance. Yes, that Green Valley universe, the one spearheaded by Penny’s Winston Brothers series. You know, the one that starts with Truth or Beard. My all-new grumpy/sunshine, slow burn, small town romance will release wide on all retailers excluding Amazon on 9/28. It will be removed from those retailers and be enrolled in Kindle Unlimited on 9/30. So be sure to pre-order your copy in advance.
Read MoreI know what you’re thinking. Do we really want to review 2020? Or is 2020 the year we should never, ever speak of again? Yes, 2020 was trash. But it can be good to take a look back. Also, in case you were a little, erm…absent yourself in 2020, here is a digest version of all the things that happened in Kilby-land.
And don’t forget to keep scrolling. Down bottom is where I thank everyone who got me through.
Read MoreIt's time for another installment of Kilby Q&A! This week, I answer 10 questions about A More Perfect Union, the new voting-oriented anthology I’m involved in. I may or may not talk about how I used to write fan fiction, and how I wrote fan fiction for The West Wing. And how Josh and Sam were my favorite couple. And how I wrote a few Donna and Josh, too. And how I studied political science and thought I would be a diplomat. Yeah, I may or may not talk about those things.
Read MoreI’ve been telling you about my holiday story called Sleigh My Name, a special epilogue for Snapdragon and Chrysalis fans, which features an extension to Darby's and Michael's story. It is available exclusively through the Jingle Balls Anthology. Tuesday was release day and the collection has been selling like hot cakes. Today it’s top 100 in the Kindle Store! This is the very first and the very only place that this story will be on sale. Based on how Chrysalis ended, you won't believe what Darby and Michael are up to…
Read MoreFans have asked and I have answered. I’m in the midst of bringing my entire library to audiobook and I’m pleased to announce that the first one out will be Friended! This five-time-honored and critically-acclaimed YA Rom Com still gives me the most LOLs out of any book I’ve written. I’ve been working with Carlton Powell and Katherine Page, the voices of Jag and Roxy, for the past two months on getting it recorded. I’ve loved listening to the chapters come together.
Read MoreI know, I know. That was super-cheesy, the way I said I was “coming out” with my first gay romance. A lot of people didn’t know I even wrote gay romance so the announcement felt a little like—you know what? Nevermind. But, it’s true! I kept it quiet until the ink was dry and the manuscript was submitted, but I’ve now been a few rounds with my editor and I’m finally ready to share the news: my first gay romance, Adam Bomb, will release in 2020!
Read MoreExciting news! This week, I added the first of my stories to Radish, a platform with a focus on serial releases! Books are published in small installments via the Radish mobile app, which focuses on customizing the experience to the smartphone reader.
Twenty years ago, when I first started writing, I released serials, chapter by chapter and week-by-week. I love the excitement (and suspense) created by this format. With Radish, chapters are released on a specific schedule.
So, how does it really work? The first 3 episodes of every story are always free. To read ongoing episodes that are not free, you buy “coins” and use them to unlock the content.
Read MoreTwo new releases in two weeks! I know. I’m crazy. And, before you ask, yes I DO sleep and no I DON’T write this fast. This April 5th release of Crazy Old Money is really the single title release of a story originally published in the Worst Holiday Ever anthology.
So why am I republishing this? Mainly, because this story ties into my Hexagon Universe. If you subscribe to my newsletter, you know what Hexagon is. Long story short, this connects to Snapdragon and Chrysalis and especially to the release that comes out in June called Vertical. And because I’m evil, I’ll be parceling out the keys to this universe slowly. Books from this universe contain: 1) A crackling romance in every story, 2) an element of suspense, and
Read MoreI realized that I talk a lot in my newsletter about how awesome it is to be part of my VIP Reader Street Team. Then, I realized that without knowing what happens there, you' couldn’t possibly understand the degree of awesomeness.
So, here’s the deal: I started my VIP Reader Street Team after I released Snapdragon and Chrysalis in 2017. Snapdragon was my debut novel—when I released it, I had no fans, no awards, no reviews…no track record whatsoever. Anyone who read it was taking a chance on me and I really, really appreciated those who did. That’s where my habit of doing great giveaways for my most faithful readers and reviewers was born…
Read MoreYeah. I know you do. Because the holidays are coming. And, if your family is as crazy as mine, you need to laugh to keep from crying. Worst Holiday Ever: A Family Drama Romance Anthology is my brainchild, the first in a series of romance anthologies that explore what happens when holidays go wrong. And wintertime holidays are first up to bat. The series shares stories of love and holiday survival among couples from varied backgrounds: straight couples, gay couples, inter-racial and inter-species couples…this collection has it all. Having your wife find out you’re an angel when your super-natural nemesis crashes Christmas? Ex-con cousins breaking bread with the cop in the family? It’s hard to beat that kind of drama.
Read MoreI was stoked to have made the decision to try out Kindle Scout for the next title you've heard me rave about, The Secret Ingredient, a culinary romance about a frustrated female television chef named Marcella and her sexy neighbor-for-the-summer, Max. Cella, ostensibly there to write her next cookbook is licking her wounds from a number of professional failures, and is itching for a break from her predatory agent, Liz. It just so happens that the guy who owns the house next door is the nephew of a late, lauded chef whose restaurant closed when she died…
Read MoreSo it's time for me to start releasing some details about Snapdragon's, male lead, Michael, or so I'm told by very pushy but very dear friends. In the coming weeks, I'll start posting some conversation excerpts between Darby and Michael. In the meantime, here's Michael's physical description, in excerpt form from the book:
